First, always make sure that you balance the cargo you place in your travel trailer evenly from side to side. You don’t want either side to become too heavy, as this can tip the trailer over to that side.
Also, always check the condition of your tires on both your trailer and your towing vehicle before each trip. Your tires should be in good condition with plenty of tread and they need to be aired up to the right psi levels.
You should check that your hitch is in good shape and that it’s properly latched before departure. When you’re driving, you’ll need to be mindful of any sensation of the trailer tipping behind you and be prepared to slow down gradually to reduce it. Avoid hitting the brakes or taking tight turns, too.
